From Paris to Lagos: The Legacy Continues
Some traditions endure because they never lose their magic.
Diner en Blanc began in Paris in the late 1980s, when a group of friends decided to gather for an elegant outdoor dinner to reconnect and meet new people. Legend has it that because none of them had a garden large enough to accommodate everyone, they chose the Bois de Boulogne as their destination. To find one another in the crowd, they all dressed in white and arrived with everything needed for dinner: tables, chairs, fine food, wine, and a shared spirit of conviviality.
The Global Phenomenon
Years later, a grand premiere in New York City sparked the global phenomenon that Diner en Blanc is known for today.
Since then, Diner en Blanc has brought together thousands of guests in more than 120 cities across 40 countries. While every host city offers its own distinctive character, the essence of the experience remains beautifully unchanged:
• An iconic venue – revealed only at the last minute
• The signature all-white dress code and table setting
• The elegance of long, beautifully appointed tables
• The joy of sharing an unforgettable evening with friends and soon-to-be friends
The Lagos Chapter
This November, Lagos proudly joins for the second time, this remarkable story.
Inspired by this year's global theme, Une Soirée Parisienne - La Belle Époque, Diner en Blanc Lagos pays homage to its Parisian origins while embracing the creativity, warmth, and unmistakable spirit of one of Africa's most vibrant cities.
